This is the description from Brandon…
Recorded live february 16, 2013
Take 5 Coffee House
Leawood KS
This is an entirely improvised double set of music and the first time Brandon, Ben and Luke played together as a trio.
Brandon and Ben have been performing together for roughly 6 years in Brandon’s Quintet. Brandon played a few times with Luke over 5 years ago. Ben and Luke met 20 minutes before the 1st set.
As a leader Brandon discussed different elements to be explored throughout the night, primarily focusing on different meter or time cycles happening simultaneously with pocket grooves. With incredible trust in each other and an excitement for discovery the three traverse multiple genres.
Ambient, drum ‘n bass, hip hop, jazz, rock, 70′s funk, Afro-Cuban, middle-eastern folk, South Indian, African, indie-rock. . . . . .
